Biggest Win (2-0)

Wed, December 8th, 1971

Prior to the second leg, there was high drama at Dens when - less than a week before the game - it was sensationally announced that Dundee had agreed to relieve John Prentice of his duties as manager.

Heaviest Defeat (1-5)

Wed, April 24th, 1963

The players and officials flew out from Tumhouse (Edinburgh) airport to Milan (via London) on Monday 22nd April and arrived at 9.00pm that evening at their training camp in Bergamo, a popular holiday resort 50km from Milan. The side trained at the home of Atlanta FC the following day and most attention centred on whether captain Bobby Cox would recover from his injury that had seen him carried off the previous Saturday in a 2-1 defeat at Motherwell or whether youngster Alec Stuart would deputise. Meanwhile 29 Dundee supporters who had left the city by bus on Sunday continued their trip from Calais through France heading for Italy. The 27 men and two women had paid £32 for the 2,500 mile round trip, but would have been amazed to find all their names and addresses listed in the Courier as they set out on their journey and were perhaps hoping the local burglars were not studying the local press!
