Match Report

Just as Ivano Bonetti did two years: ago, Jim Duffy's second spell in charge began with a pre-season friendly at Starks Park, though he didn't quite get off to a winning start like his predecessor as Raith came back to snatch a draw.

This was a game that the new boss felt had come a bit early in the pre- season preparation, following the delay in training restarting after his appointment.

And rustiness was perhaps behind Juan Sara passing up a glorious chance in the opening minutes, but he was soon to make amends.

The quick-wittedness of Beto Carranza created the opening after he was released in behind the defence, the little Argentinian coolly lobbed the keeper to leave Sara with the simplest of finishes.

However, Second Division Raith drew level when Carrigan scored from the spot after Lee Wilkie was adjudged to have tugged Andy Smith's jersey. New boy Nacho Novo, one of four half-time substitutes, impressed his new manager with his eagerness to take defenders on, but failed to trouble. the Raith with a couple of efforts from inside the box.

Dougie Cameron might have done better with a header from close range, but it was the home which almost sneaked victory when Paliczka shot narrowly past late on.
