Dylan Carriero spent time in the youth teams of MLS club Toronto FC and English outfit Queens Park Rangers.

The young midfielder caught the eye with his performances at College level for York Lions, and represented Canada at youth level, captaining the Under-20 side.

Earmarked as an exciting prospect for the future, Dylan signed on at Dens in August 2014 after a successful trial with the club.

Loaned out to Arbroath to gain first time experience, Dylan shone at the Angus outfit, netting 5 times in 21 appearances, helping the club to a third place finish in League Two.

Despite this success at Arbroath, Dylan was unable to force his way into the first team at Dundee, and made just four competitive appearances for the club in 18 months without scoring. The young Canadian’s finest moment in a Dundee jersey came when he represented the club at Julian Speroni’s testimonial match in May 2015.

Over 1700 Dundee fans made the journey south to Selhurst Park to see a star studded Dundee line-up which featured legends Juan Sara, Fabian Caballero, Georgi Nemsadze and Beto Carranza.

Dylan started the match and scored Dundee’s first goal of the night after collecting a pass from Charlie Adam, who was also making a guest appearance for his boyhood club, as Crystal Palace ran out 4-3 winners.

Ultimately, Dylan’s move to Scotland did not work out, and he returned to Canada in December 2015, where he has since featured for a number of teams in the lower reaches of Canadian football.
